This month’s optional question is How do you celebrate when you achieve a writing goal/finish a story?

I need to get a life because I don’t celebrate completing my stories, other than posting a variation of this graphic as a signal that I’ve finished the book I’m working on. Yeah, maybe a bottle of wine or something would be a suitable reward.

How do you celebrate?

  1. Guess I need a life too because I don't celebrate either. A bottle of wine sounds good.

  2. I don't really celebrate either, although I do sort of bask in the warm glow when I've finished a chapter or type The End.

  3. I need to get a life - funny! hey, I don't really celebrate either.

  4. This is a really interesting question (thank you, Alex). I'm surprised how many are like me--that we don't celebrate much. A quick 'yay me' and we're off to the next book.

  5. Chocolate and wine (or beer) and cake and vacations and TV and reading and eating out are so much a part of the fabric of my life that they're not a reward for anything; they're daily life. The reward is the completion of a project, period.

  6. I don't celebrate either, but I'm thinking I should. At least treat myself or read a book or something. :)

  7. I think you should go with the wine. Though as prolific as you are, it might not be good for your health.

  8. Considering what I read on others' blogs, we are terrible at celebrating our accomplishments (me, too). I'll bet that changes because of this exercise. It doesn't matter how we celebrate, just do it.

  9. Yes, I'm realizing we don't do much to celebrate our successes.

  10. I'll think I'll join you and Diane and add in some wine for some celebrations! :)

  11. I don't celebrate either. Gonna have to remedy that! I do like wine ;)

  12. I don't celebrate either Joy. You really should celebrate though. You've accomplished so much and really are amazing. :)
