Today is #BookFrenzyFriday! Those of you who
are friends and writing buddies know I'm always looking for ways to amp up the
PR and marketing aspect of my writing journey. So, I did a search on Twitter and didn't find #BookFrenzyFriday and decided to make it my own hashtag.
Starting today, I'll be doing something
special on a Friday. It may be a series of books (like today) or it may just be
one book. As we say in Jamaica, 'Nothing tried, nothing done'. So, let's see
what comes of today's activities.
As I shared in this week's IWSG post, I am
keenly interested in finding my elusive audience. After so many years of
writing and five years of being published, it's way past time to get that
aspect of things fixed. I know there are many people who read Romantic Suspense
and with over 2 million Jamaicans overseas, I'm striking out in that direction
So, this Friday's thrust is Romantic Suspense
and all the books in that line (standalone) have been discounted to 0.99 for
today. The reviews on each book speak for themselves, so readers will know what
they're getting when they visit my Amazon page. http://amzn.to/1xSkAjD There's
even a free prequel, Anya's Wish, so reader
can get a taste of my writing style.
Here's hoping I reach some new romance
junkies and as always, I'll share how that pans out. If you can, please share
this post in some way. The social media links are below. This writer thanks
you!
Do you have any tips to share about finding
an audience? If you haven't found yours, what are you doing to change that?
Hope you entice many new readers.
ReplyDeleteMy only tip is that sometimes your audience will come from a place you don't expect...
Thanks, Alex! True that.
DeleteWhat a creative idea. Hope it works how you hope.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Susan. Me too.
ReplyDeleteI've shared your post on my FB and Twitter feeds. I hope you can grow your readership with your new #hashtag. Best wishes.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lidy, I appreciate your help so much more than I can say.
DeleteI can feel your readership growing and growing and growing...
ReplyDeleteThanks, Joylene. I'm one for trying different things.
DeleteI don't normally read Jamaican literature, but I'm half-Jamaican. Do I count? ;) I picked up Anya and I'm sure your readers will grow even more Joy!
ReplyDeleteHey, Maurice, I didn't know that. Cool! Hope you enjoy the story. Anya - the prequel - is not heavy on the stuff male readers like, but have fun with it. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI tweeted. Great that you're being pro-active about marketing yourself. I think there's something about Friday too that entices people to pick up a free or cheap read - something for the weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Nick. People do like some weekend comfort.
