I've also realized that since the start of the
year, my sales numbers have fallen off. Drastically. It's inevitable because I haven't
done much in the promo department, and things are scheduled to get worse as the
writing juices are pumping. If you're a writer you know what it means when that
happens. It short, other things fall by the wayside.
H.R. Sinclair
wrote a post last week on the
pros and cons of doing blog tours that inspired me, so
I will be doing an Island Adventure Tour from October 20 - 31. As you might
have guessed, I'll be touring all the books in the series, but not in one post
and not on the same day/s. (She's also reminded me about my 2013 A-Z posts -
Blog Tours from A-Z, which to date I've done nothing about) Thanks, Holly!
There will be more to come later on all the fun
activities surrounding the Island Adventure Romance tour. Don't worry, you
won't be asked to do much beyond cutting and pasting information into your
blog
At this point, I'm asking you to be part of this novel
adventure by signing up on the Linky list below.
Thanks a million
You know I'll help!
ReplyDeleteI know. Thanks so much, Alex. I appreciate your help.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a creative way to do a tour.
ReplyDeleteI think Holly hit upon a good way of having a bit of variety in there.
DeleteRight now I'm writing and I haven't had the motivation to promote. Sometimes I wish I didn't have to. I do like your series covers.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Clarissa. We're told the best way to promote is to have books to sell, but at the same time without blowing our trumpet, our books can slide into oblivion.
DeleteChanging things up to make them better is always a good plan. Sure I'm here through Oct. and will be glad to post something for you. I'll just need the post info early because I'm gone starting Nov. 1.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lee and no worries, I'll get the info to you early. Hope your tour is going well.
DeleteI'd love to help. I'm excited for you, Joy.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Susan. I'm happy to have your help.
DeleteI signed up to help. Let me know if you need anything else, Joy!
ReplyDeleteThanks a million, Mina. Glad you can help.
DeleteWhat a cool idea Joy! I notice some book tours are very successful while some are more challenging.
ReplyDeleteThanks much, Mina.
ReplyDeleteMaurice, Holly's suggestion is priceless. Gonna see how that goes.
Hi Joy, I'm on my phone so I can't link to your tour without hassle so I'll return on my laptop later to do so, so count me in. You know my opinion of blog tours now, and commenters have said how weird they are because they are the same. And when we participate we know it's because the author sends the stuff, no imagination necessary on the host's part. I will be looking for ways to mix it up...
ReplyDeleteCan't see your covers either but will check them out later.
Denise
Denise, thank you so much. As much as we feel a particular way about the promotional side of things, we still help because we know it's needed and that's what the community does. Thanks again.

ReplyDeleteI could very easily have missed this. Inbox me when you are needing a shout out. I am slow and sporadic, but always willing to help!
ReplyDeleteNo worries. Same here, Elizabeth. Always late to the party.
DeleteI'm glad my idea spurred you on! I'm running my tour at the same time so we can start a blog tour high five at the end!
ReplyDeleteThanks again, Holly. I'm glad I read that post on your blog.
DeleteThanks for the link on blog tours! I enjoyed reading the comments and it's really got me thinking about how I'm going to do promo for my next project. Wishing you much success in your upcoming blog tour!
