No he can't. If she wants a Nom the plume there is nothing and no one that can stop her. I support her right to giving her self such a thing. I don't think he should be so bothered by it.
Nope, I think he's going to have let it go. After all, a nom de plume is simply a fancy French way of saying alias. And if a person wants an alias they can have one or two or as many as they want!
This is a case of pick your battles. I bet if she insists on an alias when she isn't writing she does far crazier things. Which begs the case... why stay with someone who is whacko? Isn't life too precious to waste on someone who makes you nuts because they are???
He just wants a nom de plume too. After all, doesn't everyone want to write their book, one day? There are many reasons for a pen name, as there is for avatars.
A nom de plume is always a welcome thing. You might use a different name online than your real name. It's actually safer that way in certain things. You don't have to be a writer to have one.
Do you need a good reason to have another name? Perhaps. Of course, it would be fun to make up some nom de plumes just because. On another note, I finally got on your blog at work. Yay!
Thanks, guys. I guess we all have our reasons for the things we wanna do and if it's free, who's to say we can't do exactly what we wanna do. Yay for Cherie! It's been a long time. :)

ReplyDeleteNope! Anyone can have a nom de plume if they want one. You can write privately in a diary and have a pen name. :)

ReplyDeleteSpeaking as one who picked her nom de plume for life reasons rather than writerly ones, nope, he'll never win. :)

You go girl.
ReplyDeleteP Diddy doesn't write (except maybe music) but he keeps changing his name. Why not? :P
ReplyDeleteNope. He needs to mind his own business.
ReplyDeleteI am of the belief that one can create a pen name simply for owning a pen if thy so wish.
ReplyDeleteNope, he can't win. He should just nod his head and say it sounds cool.
