Today is the
Oh, How I Miss You Blogfest, hosted by Andrew Leon, Alex J. Cavanaugh,
and Matthew MacNish.
We’re supposed to:
List one to three bloggers we really miss.
List one to three bloggers we would really miss if they stopped blogging.
And then go let them know!
List one to three bloggers we really miss.
List one to three bloggers we would really miss if they stopped blogging.
And then go let them know!
So here goes:-
Sarah Pearson/Tokeley
hasn’t blogged for over a year. I miss her posts that told about her life in
Britain and updates on her daughters’ progress. She also used to do a Musical Impressions
post where’s she‘d choose a blog and a corresponding song. I keep Sarah on my blog roll so I’ll know if
she ever comes back.
Rachel Harrie is
another blogger I miss. She hosted the Writers’ Platform Building Campaign,
which helped many of us network and form new friendships. Last time I emailed,
she assured me she was okay. Miss her still though.
There are quite a few bloggers
that are dear to me, but the three I’d miss a LOT if they stop blogging are:
Michelle Wallace, who’s like a
ray of sunshine. Michelle is sooooo caring, supporting and always has a word of
encouragement and upliftment. She’s hails from South Africa and is a strong
team player.
Peaches Ledgwidge
strikes me as quiet, but serious about what she undertakes. In looks, she
reminds me a little bit of one of my cousins, but Peaches is simply a nice
person and I just love her!
Wendy Ewurum also blogs from
South Africa. I find her to be bubbly, open and passionate about everything she
undertakes. She’s likes my writing (so, yeah, I’m biased) but she’s honest
about what she likes and doesn’t like about each book and or/character/s.
Anybody notice the connection between
Michelle and Wendy. Think their bubbliness
has to down with all that brilliant sunshine in South Africa?
I’m cheating, but I know I’d
also miss Julie Luek and Mike Offutt if they
stopped blogging.
Couldn't do this without including one of my favourite songs from Jimmy Cliff, entitled coincidentally, Oh, How I Miss You. The video refuses to be 'found' although I've tried to insert it, but I've included the link below. Link to video.
See list of other hoppers here.
Have a great weekend!
I have to say, you picked a few I'm rather fond of too!
ReplyDeleteWow, a blogfest theme song! I love it. :)
ReplyDeleteIsn't the support and encouragement we get from our online buddies just the best?
Major YES! for Rachel. I, too, miss her like crazy. I helped out during one of her crusades and got to know her rather well. Miss her charm and energy.
ReplyDeleteI'm still quite sad that Sarah is MIA. I hope all's well on her end. Thanks for sharing, JL. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's sad when bloggers disappear, but just part of the Internet I guess. Does make you wish we could let them know how much they were "noticed".
ReplyDeleteI also miss Sarah.
ReplyDeleteMichelle IS a ray of sunshine! I can always count on her to brighten my day.
I miss Rachel too! Some of my best bloggies came from the Writers Campaigns. They were such awesome events!
ReplyDeleteI would miss Mike Offut too (even if I don't make it there as often as I used to)!
ReplyDeleteI completely agree the list of bloggers you'd miss. I would, too!
ReplyDeleteThese sound like excellent blogs. I love reading bubbly posts.
ReplyDeleteThe universe sent me here today. I am humbled. Speechless.
ReplyDeleteI had to go away.
Returned.
I've gained so much from you, Joy. I take from your knowledge well. You have taught me so much, I should be the one to miss you if you were to go missing. Yesssss, I would certainly miss you.
Peaches! I love her name, love-love-love. Oh and there she is right there. Whaddya know!
ReplyDeleteMJ, some people just spread light and sweetness wherever they go.
ReplyDeleteKirsten, true that. We writers understand each others pain and know the value of strong support.
Sheri, I hope she returns at some point.
David, I hope Sarah comes back too.
True that, E.J., some people do make a huge difference.
Alex, gotta agree with you there. Michelle is one special lady.
Crystal the Platform Building event was indeed a wonderful idea and a great way of making new writing friends.
Mike does have a special way about him. Even though I'm not into Sci-Fi that much, I do like how he expresses himself.
Sherry, they do make a difference.
Rhonda, just being around upbeat people makes me feel better, no matter my mood.
Peaches, you've made a big impression on me. You're just good people I guess. :)
Cathy, thanks for visiting. Like the tone of your blog. You're funny.
I don't know most you mentioned. But Michelle truly is a ray of sunshine, and I'd miss her terribly if she went away. :(
ReplyDeleteYou picked excellent bloggers that'd I'd miss too. Michelle, Michael, Julie... they are all wonderful people. There's also this author/blogger named Joy Campbell who I'd certainly miss as well. (: And I miss Rachel too. It's because of her last writer's platform building campaign that I descovered this awesome writing community. I hope she is able to come back to the online community someday soon.
ReplyDeleteExcellent choices, Joy. I'd miss your blog if you went away. Michelle is definitely a ray of sunshine. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteSome of those just got added to my list of blogs to check.
ReplyDeleteIt's always sad when someone quits blogging... like you've lost an actual friend. Strange, but true.
ReplyDeleteI just discovered Julie Luek's blog today! I really like it! Of course your blog is great, too!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest of your weekend!
Joy Campbell, THANK YOU! *blushing profusely*
ReplyDeleteThank you for the beautiful words.
I'm so glad that I can bring the South African sunshine into peoples' lives!!
And you have become very special to me too, my friend. Make no mistake about that.
I remember Sarah Pearson... whatever happened to her?
Rachael is still around, she just doesn't blog all that much. But she responds to all emails.
ReplyDeleteYes, there's a few names in that mix I definitely miss, especially Rachel Harrie.
ReplyDeleteI love Michelle's blog, too!
