It's What's Happening...

Friday, February 1, 2013

This week has been a fun one. There was the Reintroduce Myself blogfest, hosted by a cool group of bloggers. Still haven’t completed the visiting side of things, but it was wonderful to meet new people and reconnect with old friends.

I need to get on top of writing my entry for Nick Wilford’s Overcoming Adversity Bloghop scheduled for February 4 & 5. Show your support, sign up here.

Although I had doubts about the sanity of signing up for the A-Z Challenge, I went ahead and signed up again. It’ll help me to complete something I’ve lingered over for six months. Yeah, I’m so in. If you haven’t done so yet, sign up here. More than 400 people are on the list already.

I don’t have much to report on the Healthy Writers Club front. I did get in two evening’s worth of exercise, but the YA novel I’m editing took all my evenings this week. And guess what? I actually did some gardening this week. I want to get back on the wagon next week. Meantime, check out the Healthy Writers Club here. You know the effect all the sitting has on our bodies, so get moving!

Last, but not least, Retribution is out!!! (picture me doing the happy dance) and at a special low price too. I would put a link in, if I could find it on Amazon, but anyway it's there lingering somewhere in Amazon's pipeline.  It's here. Distraction has joined in the fun and is also discounted, but I’ll make a big noise about that come Monday.

Have a wonderful weekend and remember to check out some of the stuff that's happening in the community.

  1. The re-meet blogfest was fun. I still haven't gotten to everyone either ): ...
I've signed up for Nick's bloghop, but still trying to figure out what to write. I thought I had an idea, but now I'm not that fond of it anymore... As for A-Z I'll sign up, but again I still don't have a theme...thank goodness I still have a few more weeks to get my act together. (:

    1. Hi, Elise,
Luckily for me, I do have a theme for the A-Z. I just need to get around to writing the stuff.

    2. I don't know how you do it. Of the few blogfests I've entered, I couldn't complete but maybe one of them.

  4. Ooo! I'll have to get my copy of Retribution. Awesome! I wrote my contribution to the adversity bloghop during my tiny break. And after much thought, I caved and joined AtoZ. I even have up to J loaded already.

    1. Well done, Mary. I've a couple of posts written from when I started thinking about the project but have a long way to go. I have theme ideas for half the letters though.

  5. Yes! Glad you're on board for the Challenge. Going to be another awesome year.
And I actually wrote my piece for Nick's blogfest last weekend. I had no idea what I was even going to do when I signed up - I just jumped in to help Nick.

    2. I second Alex about you entering the AZ, Joy!

I've done my piece for the OA bloghop, but it is apiece from my last year's AZ. This year am too busy with the novel to write new stuff :(.

  6. Thanks for the shout! If it helps, I only just finished my entry today, after scrapping my first idea. No different from any other bloghop basically. :) And you write about lots of people who overcome adversity so I'm sure you can ace this!

I got to about half of the Reintroducing posts, but I'm glad to have made new friends. For the A-Z, my posts will be based on audience participation, so no prewriting possible. Not sure if that'll be a good idea!

    Congrats on Retribution!

    1. Nick, hadn't thought about the challenge like that, but yeah, I just have to think about it a bit and get going.

That's a cool idea for the A-Z. That should be easy-peasy. Can't wait to see what you have planned.

  9. So many wonderful blogfests that I haven't been able to find out about during this month of writing focus to get a few things started. Glad to see you've got Retribution out. I'm such a slow-old-fogey when it comes to reading but I will get this whole series consumed doggone it :-)

  10. I've signed up for the A to Z Challenge (this will be my third...) and have about 2 ideas for a theme... not sure which one to go with...
My piece for the Overcoming Adversity hop has been finalized... just need to post it to draft...
Congrats on Retribution! I need to check out those discounts...

  11. The A-Z Challenge will certainly test our resolve especially as time never seems to get any more, does it? Thanks for adding me to your circles in Google+ and for letting me know about OVERCOMING ADVERSITY bloghop, Roland :-)

  14. Hi, Christine, still need to get going on that and time is upon us. Yikes!

Ciara, not sure long I've been doing it. Know I've done it at least 2 yrs. I should check this blog.

Angela, yeah, I'm elbow deep in edits and there are all the other things begging for attention.

Michelle, you could do both themes. I've been crazy enough to combine stuff about Jamaica for A-Z. Thanks for the good wishes!

Roland, for sure A-Z does test the limits fo what we can do as writers. Hope you get time to write something for the OA Blogfest. Trying to get mine done today.

Thanks, Anne. I'm always waaaay too busy. I fear one day I'll crash, but meantime...

    Thanks, Carol!

  15. You can avail the cash amount in below twenty four hours payday loans if you happen to be
taking out financing and believe that you may want to cover it back
early, then you can find certain things you ought to think about
    prior to signing up.

Don't be shy, I'd love to hear what you think.
