NaNoReviMo & The Healthy Writers Club

Friday, November 16, 2012

I’ve been powering through some revisions and feeling lazy sleepy the other half of the time. Could be because I’m alone at home. You know what can happen when there isn’t anybody around to engage or get you moving. I feel so much better when I get up and walk around, which is something I’ve been trying to do more often since I read that report about how unhealthy it is to remain sitting for long periods.

Didn’t get much exercise done this week either, which is weird considering I’ve been home most days. I’m hoping housework can count as exercise, ’cause I’ve only gotten in maybe 1 dedicated ½ hour this week, despite knowing I gotta have something to report for the Healthy Writers Club.

My attempts at NaNoRevMo have gone well. I’d be more comfortable if I was further along, but I’m thankful the revision process is going smoothly.

The only damper on my horizon is that I’ll be at work from dusk to dawn both Saturday and Sunday. I’m so not looking forward to that. I’ve been telling myself all of this week that I should be grateful for the extra work, but the pep talks aren’t working as well as they should.

Here’s hoping you all have a wonderful weekend.

  2. Some weeks are feasts, and some weeks are famines. It's unrealistic for us to keep up a crazy pace all of the time, so I applaud your progress! Keep trucking!

    1. Thanks, Carol. Based on what I have to do revision is best to do right now. I get ahead by working hard when things are going well.

  4. Congratulations on the nano writing, J.L. Campbell! If you don't feel like exercising too much, put some music you enjoy and dance to the tune.

  5. Oh, absolutely, housework definitely counts as exercise. Good thing, too. Anymore, outside of housework and occasionally attacking the leaves with a rake, just about the only other exercise I get is high speed typing on the computer keyboard. But, hey! Let me tell ya, my fingers are quite svelte.

    1. Thanks, Sheena. Yeah, I try to find the positive when things start getting me down. One day down, another to go tomorrow.

  7. Housework, especially things like putting laundry away, vacuuming and dusting, count as exercise. I usually exercise every single day, but have had two days when I have skipped the exercise. It is really unlike me, and I am going to make sure to do better this week.

  8. Congrats on your progress with the revisions, I'm glad they are going well so far. I totally vote for housework to count. I've been so terribly lazy it's the only thing that might save me since I have to do that LOL.

    1. Thanks, Julie. Yeah, with the amount of sweat I work up doing housework, it would be sad if it didn't count.

  9. Housework definitely counts!! Just moving around helps. I really need to do more dedicated exercise as well though... Glad to hear your revisions are going well.
