Holiday Sale, A Giveaway & Eye Candy

Thursday, November 22, 2012

Next week, I’ll be out of town at a major tournament. Balancing the demands of the job and trying to put my house in order (literally) is making me stressed and tired, but I’ll get over that. In the event that my presence is a little spotty, you’ll know why. Meantime, I have several things going on that some of you might find interesting.

My Healthy Writers Club efforts this week have been the worst since I joined up. One half-hour session since Monday.  It’s not a good thing, but at least I haven’t been eating any more than I should. In fact, I’ve been eating way less, which can have repercussions when you get to my age. Yeah, I’m getting to that stage of life when a woman becomes more delicate. Or so I’d like to think.

I’m taking part in a holiday book sale that’s masterminded by Deatri King-Bey. The prices of Distraction and the companion book, Thirteen Steps to Distraction are at rock bottom from now until December 31. There are other writers involved in this effort, so hop on over to Deatri’s site and see if there’s anything you might like.

At the Readers’ Suite, I’m giving away a $5.00 Amazon Gift Card as part of the Gratitude Hop, which ends on November 25. Go on over if a gift card would do you some good.

Eye Candy!
In all my rushing around, I paused long enough last night to find out that Luther is back on BBCAM. Now that was a pleasant surprise and a brilliant episode, but that's what I've become used to from this weekly crime drama. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the place I’ll be staying in MoBay next week has BBCAM so I can get my fix.
Trying to stay sane for the next week or so…

  1. Some great giveaways!
Amazon and I are a no-no... and I won't go into details, that would be an entire blog post! LOL.

    1. Hey, Michelle,
Based on where you are, I kinda have an inkling of what those challenges might be.

  2. Aw, Joy, I can so relate to how it feels trying to put your house in order and being a bit 'spotty' with the blogging. I love that description, 'spotty.' I've been quite 'spotty' myself lately, quite overwhelmed. At least you give an explanation to your readers. I just drop out of sight! Hope it all works out smoothly for you, especially with the holidays fast approaching. Yikes!

    1. Hi, Lynn,
I have noticed that it's been a while since you've posted regularly. Not sure things will go as smoothly as I'd like, but I'm keeping my thoughts positive.

  4. I know the time constraints, Joy. I saw the announcement to partake in the sale, but I have to much on my plate right now.

  6. Busy. Busy. Busy. That is such a small word for all it conveys, isn't it? Keep going, but get some rest so you don't come down with a winter cold. That would be yucky.

Almost finished with Distraction. Will try to review before the end of the month . . . fingers crossed, but I'm BUSY! :-)

  13. We completely understand. There are so many obligations for writers, and that's just the writing-related stuff. Through in family, a day job or any obligations and it gets tough.

I've been totally MIA from my blog except for the Storyteller Saturday posts. With NaNoWriMo, holiday travel, and a host of other things going on it's been pretty crazy. And though NaNo is over, I have 40,000 more words to write of my novel before it's finished and it needs to be completed by the end of the month. So this month is essentially NaNo Part II for me.

  14. OMG, Roxanne. You do have a LOT of ground to cover before the end of the month. Hope you meet your deadline. Life can and does have a way of derailing the stuff we plan.
