Mina Burrows and Idris Elba

Thursday, August 30, 2012

Today, I’m hanging with the paranormal set over at Mina Burrows’ blog. Nope, haven’t branched in that direction yet, though some Amazon tags on one of my books says differently. I was thrilled that Mina liked Distraction, being a paranormal chick and all. It’s such a joy when readers get your story and it makes them think. I wanted to go ‘Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeee’ when I read her review, posted here.  Go on over and see what I’m talking about today.

An aside here, I know I’m a dinosaur and all, so last week, I discovered Luther. Fell in lust love with Idris Elba and watched again last night. Am I the only one who’s just discovered this BBC psychological crime drama? Anyhoo, the photo below has absolutely nothing to do with the tour, but er, I can easily visualize Elba in one of my stories. Can you say eye candy?

In view of the brouhaha over copyright issues with pictures, I’ve linked to a really nice photo here. The one below is from Wikipedia and it would have to be the worst of the hundreds I’ve salivated over looked at…grumble, grumble.

Anyway, remember to meet me at Mina’s.

  2. I've not seen him in Luther, but he was on The Wire and had some appearances on The Big C. He is very easy on the eyes, and I love his accent!

  3. I'm not quite done with "Distraction" yet, but I can say some words about it tomorrow. Note: I love it. You are so talented, and one hell of a writer. Like, your description of fried chicken made me crave chicken. I also love how sensual you can make sex.

Thanks so much. Putting yourself in your scene makes for an interesting writing experience. Glad it translates for the reader.

  8. Melissa, I need to get out of my cave more. Only 'discovered; Idris and Luther last week. lol.

AA - I wouldn't know where to start writing paranormal stuff. Still, I'm not sensible enough to ever say no to a challenge.

  9. Know about Luther but never watched it. The star is hot though, no argument there. Glad people are going across genre divides and loving your work.

  10. Sheena, if you like CSI, NCIS, etc. you'll like Luther. I guess many of us read across genres. Gotta admit that there are some I don't quite understand, but to each his own.
