Writing, Reading and Nature Watching

Friday, July 13, 2012

Time certainly whips by when I’m having fun. A week of my vacation is done with 10,000 words under my belt and lots of other stuff to get done.

I’d started the Crime Fiction Alphabet and was surprised to find today that I missed the letter H last week and G is upon me. Not sure I’ll be able to catch up, but it’s so like me to not be able to resist a challenge.

Today is also time for the Romantic Friday Writers post. The theme this week is Greener Pastures, which reminds me of a story I’ve had brewing now for several years. I’ve only been able to write snippets of it for the challenge, but one day…

I leave you with snapshots of what I’m reading now, what I’ll be reading next as well as a few of my favourite things.

  1. You've got a whole lot of writing done. That's some serious productivity. Way to go!

And I love the nature pictures.

The cover on that first book really caught my eye. I, too, need to get my hands on Medeia's book. It's on my TBR list but I've been thinking of getting a print version.

    1. Thanks, Angela. Haven't written so much in a while. I'm liking Bestest. Ramadan. Ever. Really like the character's voice. She's funny.

  3. Nice to get some writing done on vacation. I think I do everything but write when I set time aside for it.

Those are beautiful flower pictures. I think its too hot here in Calif to grow anything pretty.

    1. Thanks, Nick. I think that story will be waiting in the wings for a while yet. Oh, yes, that parasite is one of the gooduns, except when it's trying to climb the grille work.

  8. Glad you are progressing nicely on your word count. I saw a groupon for a trip to Jamaica and was thinking...man if I went there, I could meet up with Joy!
